This blog is a not-at-all-independent guide to the newsletters and other materials published by the Liberal Democrats in Ouseburn Ward. It is intended to tease apart the facts from the self-promotion, pointing and occasional fibs – so that residents of the ward can make up their own minds.
About the author
My name is Geof Ellingham. My husband, Alistair Chisholm, is Ouseburn Ward’s one remaining Labour Party councillor. He became severely sight impaired following multiple strokes at the end of 2021, but he remains an active councillor and you’ve most likely seen him out and about with his white cane.
I’m also a member of the Labour Party – but this blog is not intended to persuade you to vote for Alistair (though of course I would love it if you did). It’s not even to dissuade you from voting for the Liberal Democrats. But I have become a little fed up over the years of some of the underhand tactics used in local campaigns, and this is my little attempt to redress the balance.
So, if you spot something in a Lib Dem newsletter or tweet that looks fishy, please email me at pointing@focuspocus.org.uk so I can investigate.
And if you are a Liberal Democrat supporter, councillor or candidate and think I’ve said something here that isn’t true, let me know and I promise to put right anything I’ve got wrong.
